Fire Protection District - Northwest Fire Station
The Fire District is beginning construction of a new fire station in the northwest area of Rancho Cucamonga to better serve our community. The station is being built on former San Bernardino County Flood Control property located on the west side of Hellman Avenue, north of Wilson and south of Hillside.
The construction contract was awarded on August 18th, followed by a groundbreaking ceremony on August 25th which marked another chapter in the Fire District's history. Construction will begin in early Fall.
The fire station will be a one-story structure with a residential design character that is approximately 6,000 square feet. The station will house a Paramedic Engine staffed 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year by a three-person crew. Existing staff from the Amethyst Fire Station where two engine companies currently operate will be relocated to this new station when it opens for business in approximately one year. Also housed there will be fire engine specially designed for responses in the brush covered hillsides in the City's north end. This unit will be cross-staffed by the regular crew.
