The Capital Improvements Section is responsible for the preparation and implementation of the City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP), and the construction and installation of the various public improvements within the CIP, such as paving, curb and gutter, sidewalks, landscape and irrigation, storm drains, traffic signals, City buildings and park facilities. In addition to designing the public improvements for the City, the engineers in the Project Management section are responsible for long-range planning of the City's public construction projects, as well as the public bidding process and contract administration.

This section consists of a Senior Civil Engineer who oversees the CIP in total, with a staff of thirteen who help to administer projects. Among this staff are Engineers and an Inspection team that ensures each project is designed and constructed according City standards and specifications, as well as within the budgets designated by the City Council.

We are pleased to release the City's Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Year 2009/2010. This year's CIP includes the Haven Grade Separation, the Foothill Boulevard Widening, the Hellman Storm Drain and many other projects occurring throughout the City.

For further information or inquiries on Capital Projects citywide, please contact Jerry Dyer, Senior Civil Engineer at (909) 477-2740 ext. 4037.
