Human Resources Division
The Human Resources Division handles the City's personnel
and employee benefits functions.
The personnel function is for
the administration of the recruitment, testing,
selection,
and
labor relations
aspects
of the City.
Personnel ensures that departments have a qualified pool
of applicants to choose from and that hiring, discipline and
promotional
decisions are made in accordance with state and federal requirements.
The labor negotiation process occurs annually with five recognized
employee groups.
This employee benefits function involves handling
the employee benefit program. The current benefit program includes
medical,
dental, optical,
and long-term disability coverage along with supplemental life
insurance.
