Planning Department - What To Know Before You Apply
- Starting a new business?
- Developing in our City?
- Remodeling your house?
You tell us what you intend to do, and the
Planning Division will verify that it is permitted by the zoning
for your
property. We will prepare a packet with the proper information
you
need. Application forms are available at the public counter
or by
calling the Planning Division at 477-2750.
Each application
is customized for your project. For most projects this
will include:
Submittal
Requirements: Blueprints, maps, and fees.
Plan & Map Requirements: Review these carefully before
you prepare plans. We have examples to assist you. Typically
the application will enlist the services of a professional,
such as an architect or engineer, to prepare the plans.
Application Form: Usually a two page Uniform Application.
More complex projects, such as subdivisions, commercial and
industrial
development, have additional application forms.
Supplemental Information: Depending on the type of project,
public hearing information, environmental checklists, or
special studies may be required.
Fees: For most applications payment of fees is required at
submittal.
As you can see, the more complex your request, the more complex
the application packet. The Planning Division wants to help
you prepare your application and plans. Once an application
is received a planner will be assigned to work with you until
completion of your project.
